Kissaten

Located at Jaya One, Petaling Jaya

Bittergourd and cucumber shake.
The other one is cucumber and lychee which I strongly recommend.
RM8.90 each

Absolutely refreshing and none of that diluted nonsense
served by some establishments.

Stuffed Gyoza Wings. RM8.90
Comes in servings for three, love love love the crispy skin!

The contents of the stuffing are a mystery to me.
Tasted herb-like. Goes very well with the sauce that came with the dish.

Crispy Fuchuk (Damn forgot to note down the price)

Mum says it is the best fuchuk she's every tasted.
Better than the ones at Little Penang.

Main course: Salmon Cream Pizza
RM22.90
Looks very cheesy doesn't it but actually it's just the right taste!

No cloying mayonnaise, every slice comes with
a good chunk of salmon fillet.
We were very full already but we finished the whole plate.

Dessert was chilled Azuki Pumpkin Zenza
RM 7.90
The glutinous balls did not impress me, but digging deeper we
found rich red bean paste. By mixing with a dollop of pumpkin
and red bean it becomes a great combination.

Sigh... I've gone and made myself hungry writing this post.

Roti Ayam Kam Ling Restaurant

My parents brought back two of these from Kampar during their weekend getaway. I've seen a version of this gigantic savoury dish of similar fame in Seremban but have never tried it before. Wanted to, but apparently had to order the day before as it was a very popular item.

RM 22 good for 3-4 servings

Carving the crust to reveal....

A mysterious paper-wrap inside

Tadaaaaaa.... yum yum!
Curry was not too spicy and the broth was so sweet!

The potatoes were baked just right and the broth was so sweet! Went well with the fluffy white bread especially when warm and steaming. A bit pricy for a dish of chicken, wish there was more meat and less bones but the novelty of the dish is worth the experience. Sorry. Don't know the address of Kam Ling Restaurant.

Senjyu @ Cineleisure The Curve

Went to this establishment, slightly on the pricier side than the norm at say, Sushi King or Genki Sushi but the choice of Japanese food is not the stereotypical affair, there is variation in its creations!

I leave rice on my plate. My grandmother would have said in the future my husband will have pimples on his face. To me having leftovers on the plate symbolizes an abundance of food (so much so that there is no dire need to lick the plate clean).

Flower tea - Jasmine and green tea

Tempura

Yoghurt strawberry with soda

Foie gras and avocado temakis - heavenly!

Grilled salmon lighly baked with mayonaisse

Pineappel sorbet for dessert! Yum!

Located at the ground floor of cineleisure just after the customer service counter, this place has a nice ambience inconsistent with the fast food layout of the usual sushi joints. Dim lights, bamboo tree deco, golden cranes embossed on the wall, presentation was polished and professional. Staff were polite and attentive, but I think they are new to the job as orders were slow and sometimes mixed up. Overall, it's a good place to go to as their menu is more special that the usual fastfood establishments.

Nong and Jimmy Thai BBQ Restaurant

Well, not really a restaurant but a spacious shack with no walls sheltered by tin roof. This is the place to go to when you want good seafood and is pretty packed during the weekends. This was where we went to have my birthday dinner (early celebration).

Perhaps the most unique food served here is
the savoury mini you-char-kuih

Made on the spot and deep fried in oily goodness

Served fresh from the wok with the most aromatic homemade kaya sauce.

BBQ cockles RM 5 a basket

Mango Kerabu - Thai style shredded salad

Ikan Pari Bakar - Curried stingray grilled in tin foil. Good!

Highligght of the meal were BBQ Crabs.

Subject has good eye-contact with camera.

Grilled Squid - soft succulent flesh with that smokey BBQ taste

I also recommend the fried rice. Although the stir-fried prawns which went with it were plentiful, the prawns turned out a bit plain for my liking. But the fried rice! Oh the fried rice! I just don't know how they came up with the secret ingredient. I do not detect ajinomoto (I can usually taste it at the back of my throat hours later) so I suspect there's something in the base they use. It sure was heavily glistened with oil more than is normal!
